Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist I to deliver exceptional patient service by coordinating clerical and medical activities, handling patient registration, and facilitating access to UTMB services for new and returning patients.

You will assist with scheduling, pre-registration, eligibility verification, and financial counseling while upholding patient confidentiality and providing accurate information to patients and care teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in healthcare customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level customer service to patients and internal customers.
• Coordinate clerical and medical activities and patient registration.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate financial counseling.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.
• Assist with pre-registration and eligibility verification.
