Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to deliver exceptional service to patients, acting as the first point of contact in person or by phone and ensuring a welcoming, patient-centered experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include registration, scheduling, and coordinating with care teams to facilitate appointments, insurance processing, and patient communications while maintaining compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary education helpful.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.
• May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

• Registration - Greet patients & verifies demographics; creating, scanning & routing documents or electronic forms; establish financial responsibility and assist with arrangements.
• Scheduling - Coordinate & schedule appointments with nursing team & providers; obtain referrals & pre-authorizations; arrange interpreter services; operate multi-line phone.
• Additional Duties - Prepare & coordinate charts; organize provider documents; track patient visits & health information; coordinate Telemed appointments; remember calls and recall workflows.
