Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Skokie, IL, is seeking a Patient Access Representative II to join our hospital network. This full-time role supports patient registrations, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification, with hours Monday through Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

The position emphasizes accurate data entry, customer service excellence, and collaboration with care teams to streamline patient flow and optimize the patient experience in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One-year healthcare or health insurance customer service experience required.
• Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as an internal/external resource for all customer groups by providing access to healthcare services in accordance with established policies.
• Identify payment sources for all services provided; assist in collecting payments, and triage patients or their representatives for financial counseling.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and abide by all internal and governmental/regulatory compliance expectations.
