Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to handle scheduling, preregistration, financial clearance, and authorization tasks, presenting AHN services clearly to patients and families. The role requires accurate data collection and benefits verification while explaining financial responsibilities.

You will work with payors, physicians, and patients to ensure compliant data entry and timely bill submission, upholding HIPAA guidelines and AHN policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or 1–3 months related training or equivalent
• One year of related experience preferred in medical or financial services settings
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications

Responsabilités

• Conducts scheduling and preregistration, validates patient demographic data, identifies and verifies medical benefits, accurate plan code and COB order.
• Verifies insurance information through payor contacts via telephone, online resources, or verification systems; documents and follows up on authorizations/ referrals.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, collects liabilities and posts payments in the ADT system; escalates to Financial Counselors as needed.
• Delivers positive patient experience; maintains relationships with patients, AHN leadership, physician offices and external vendors.
• Maintains productivity, suggests improvements to enhance performance and efficiency; adheres to policies and completes trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned; complies with HIPAA and company privacy/security policies.
