Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to perform scheduling and preregistration duties, verify benefits, and determine patient financial responsibilities. The role supports accurate billing and positive patient experiences within AHN’s network.

Responsibilities include validating demographics, obtaining plan codes, and applying payments while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Two years of related experience, preferably in medical/financial services/customer service.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling and preregistration functions, validates patient demographic data, identifies and verifies medical benefits and COB information.
• Verifies insurance information and identifies authorization/referral requirements; provides documentation to payors and physician offices.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, estimates liabilities, and processes payments in the ADT system.
