Job summary

South Shore Health seeks a Central Scheduling Specialist for South Shore Medical Center’s centralized contact center in Norwell, MA. You will schedule patient appointments, verify demographics and insurance, process prescription requests, and respond to inquiries via phone, website, and fax.

The role requires patient- and detail-focused service in a fast-paced environment. The position offers full-time hours with day shifts, and compensation ranges from $18.20 to $26.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; two years of college preferred.
• One year of medical office experience required; Epic experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments following provider templates and confirm details with patients.
• Register new patients and verify or update demographic and insurance information.
• Answer calls promptly with courteous, helpful service and resolve inquiries.
• Learn and perform operator functions to provide support as needed and assist with training new staff.
