Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Registration Clerk for the St Marys - Detroit Lakes Clinic. The role involves greeting customers, obtaining demographic and financial information, and coordinating patient check-in and scheduling.

Expect 8‑hour shifts with a rotating schedule, including every-other weekend in the Emergency Department rotation. Shift times vary from early morning to late morning, with lunch durations depending on start time.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients to obtain demographic details, financial information, and basic health data to ensure proper care.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record as needed.
• Performs point-of-service data collection, including identifying and collecting co-payments and down payments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains work queues as directed by supervisor.
• Interacts with patients and staff to provide high-quality customer service.
• Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, and directs to clinical team as needed.
• Sanitizes registration equipment between uses and restocks supplies.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
