Job summary

Intermountain Health in Layton, Utah is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients. You will greet, check-in/out, verify information, and resolve issues related to patient intake and care, ensuring a superior experience across phone, in-person, and secure messaging channels.

You will document interactions in the EMR, schedule appointments, and assist with insurance data collection and privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills with word processing and data entry.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with patients and caregivers to deliver high satisfaction.
• Ability to protect PHI and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Connect with patients courteously by phone, in person or via secure messaging to resolve needs.
• Document all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments for visits, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients by updating demographic data in the system and verify information.
• Assist with insurance cards, IDs, approvals and authorizations when applicable.
