Job summary

Mountain Laurel Medical Center is seeking a diligent Patient Access/Registration professional to manage day-to-day patient access operations in our outpatient setting. You will handle data entry, insurance verification, co-pays, and scheduling while upholding MLMC policies and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities Include using the PM system and EHR to verify insurance, schedule patients, collect payments, and communicate with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3 years related experience preferred.
• Effective communication with staff and patients, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work in a privacy-conscious environment per HIPAA guidelines.
• Ability to perform data entry and basic math for co-pays and sliding fee programs.
• Detail-oriented and dependable with good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient data into the Practice Management system and verify insurance eligibility.
• Determine co-pays and sliding fee amounts; input payer codes.
• Verify demographics and insurance; update records.
• Check in/out patients; collect co-pays; route to clinical team.
• Answer phones and document in the EHR.
• Schedule appointments according to MLMC guidelines.
• Manage cash drawer and post payments daily.
• Explain insurance coverage and assist with revenue cycle understanding.
• Provide excellent patient-centered service and teamwork.
• Participate in staff meetings and complete assigned duties.
