Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a patient access representative at the West Fargo location to greet customers and guide the patient registration process. You will interview patients, collect demographic and financial information, and coordinate with Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers to ensure accurate registration and billing.

Responsibilities include obtaining insurance information, collecting co-payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments per physician orders.

Qualifications

• Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic and financial details to ensure accurate registration and billing.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Performs point of service data collection, including co-payments and down payments, and reconciles the cash drawer.
• Maintains work queues as directed by supervisor; supports patient checkout and scheduling.
• Interacts professionally with patients and staff to provide high-quality customer service.
• Answers calls, schedules appointments, and refers to clinical team when needed.
