Job summary

American Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to provide front-end patient support, including intake, scheduling, medical records, and financial transactions. The role requires accurate documentation, strong customer service, and cross-coverage across stations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year in healthcare setting; physician office experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and caregivers professionally to create a welcoming environment.
  • Check in patients and verify identity; document status in the EMR.
  • Collect and post patient payments; issue receipts and notify Financial Counselor when payment cannot be made.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments; coordinate physician requests and changes.
  • Maintain patient charts and documentation; respond to medical record requests and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Balance cash drawers and prepare daily close documentation per protocols.
