Job summary

Greater Washington Oncology Associates is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to deliver frontline patient support, manage intake, scheduling, medical records, and payments with accuracy and courtesy. You will work across multiple stations, ensuring smooth operations, accurate EMR documentation, and effective communication with patients and the care team in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year in a healthcare setting; physician office experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus with attention to detail and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and caregivers professionally to create a welcoming, supportive environment.
  • Check in patients accurately and verify identity per standards; document in the EMR.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments; coordinate referrals and tests.
  • Document and post patient payments and co-pays; issue receipts.
  • Maintain patient demographics and EMR records; respond to inquiries.
  • Coordinate with care team; relay urgent information to physicians and staff.
  • Provide coverage across locations and assist with training.
