Qualifications

• On-site training for one week will be provided.
• Prefer experience in a medical office setting with a computer scheduling system.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in person or by phone and updates insurance/demographics.
• Verifies that physician accepts presented insurance and checks prior to visit.
• Coordinates patient arrival and ensures medical records are available for the physician.
• Processes HIPAA-related paperwork and other institutional forms as necessary.
• Collects referrals or insurance authorizations as required.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and provides guidelines for requesting medical records.
• May perform simple charge entry tasks or enter payments collected from patients.
• Answers phones for the practice and schedules appointments.
