Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and their families to address questions and provide courteous, timely assistance.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements, physician availability, and staffing needs.
• Schedules patient procedures and pre-registers scheduled patients with accurate demographic information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using designated applications and captures correct health insurance details.
• Secures necessary authorizations and verifications for services.
• Collects and records patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Communicates operative reports daily to appropriate physician offices.
• Compiles and organizes registration documentation to ensure completion of patient medical records.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolving insurance-related questions.
• Documents on forms when patients cannot sign consent; notes family sign-off and nursing verification if needed.
• Places an armband on each patient before departure for proper identification.
• Answers and returns phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
