Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Registration professional to greet patients, verify demographics and route documents. You will coordinate scheduling with nursing staff, obtain referrals, arrange interpreter services and manage patient check-in/out processes.

The role supports financial aspects, including collecting payments and assisting with billing questions, while navigating insurance queues and pre-authorizations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Post-secondary education helpful.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
  • Six months' customer service experience desired.
  • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients & verify demographics.
  • Create, scan & route documents or electronic forms.
  • Inform patients what the document is & capture signatures.
  • Establish and assign financial responsibility and assist with arrangements.
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
  • May work through the registration work queue to address registration errors or denied insurance claims.
  • Coordinate & schedule appointments with nursing team & providers.
  • Obtain and coordinate referrals & conduct pre-authorization.
  • Arrange interpreter services.
  • Check patients in/out; operate multi-line phone.
  • May resolve recall and waitlist issues; serve as switchboard operator.
