Capital Health is seeking a front desk patient access clerk to support two hospitals, an outpatient center, and a network of clinics. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, and collect payments while maintaining patient privacy and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year as receptionist or clerk in healthcare or one year in customer service.
• Knowledge: Medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training: Proficient computer skills; basic Microsoft Office; familiarity with Excel.
• Usual Work Day: 8 Hours

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones promptly and route calls efficiently.
• Schedule and cancel appointments using established guidelines.
• Prepare for day, review eligibility, and pre-register patients.
• Greet patients professionally and inform about privacy policies.
• Register patients, verify demographics and insurance information.
• Collect co-pays and balances at check-in and at checkout.
• Refer questions to appropriate staff for past due balances or resolutions.
• Process charges, pre-authorizations, and referrals as required.
• Perform clerical duties and support multiple Capital Health Medical Group practices.
