Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a Central Scheduling Representative to schedule outpatient diagnostic testing in a call center setting. You will collect demographic and insurance information to start pre-registration and maintain accurate patient records.

Responsibilities include answering phones, reading orders to schedule appointments, and providing information on test prep and procedures, while upholding privacy and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Medical terminology preferred but not required.
• Ability to provide caring and compassionate service over the phone.
• Able to utilize Microsoft Outlook (Office) and Microsoft Teams.
• Proficient in typing and utilizing multiple software systems simultaneously.
• Central Scheduling, outpatient registration or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and provide excellent customer service to patients and providers.
• Read doctor’s orders to accurately schedule patient appointments.
• Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information over the phone.
• Provide patients with accurate information on test preparation and procedures.
• Promote a clean and safe environment of care, using SAFE error prevention habits.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality per Standards of Conduct.
