Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Sioux Falls to greet patients, verify demographics, and manage in-person registration and scheduling. This front-facing role requires handling multi-line calls, collecting payments, and routing documents to ensure a smooth patient journey within the clinic.

Hours are Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm and Friday 6:30am–3:30pm, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service and a welcoming environment for patients at the Edith

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• BLS may be required for certain locations/settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verifies demographics.
• Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients what the document is and capture signatures.
• Establishes financial responsibility and assists with arrangements.
• Collects co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• May address registration errors or denied insurance claims.
• Schedule appointments with nursing teams and providers.
• Coordinate referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Arrange interpreter services and handle check-in/out.
• Operate multi-line phone and switchboard duties.
• Manage recall and waitlists as needed.
• Prepare charts and organize provider documents.
• Coordinate patient financial assistance and health information management.
