Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, check in/out, verify information, and resolve intake questions while upholding Intermountain values and delivering excellent customer service.

You will document all calls in the EMR, schedule appointments, obtain insurance cards, and assist with billing forms and financial education as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and word processing.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to protect PHI and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating all required demographic data.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards, IDs, and signatures on forms; may verify COB.
• Assists patients with forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance and processes payments.
• Stays current on responsibilities and clinic communications to maintain high performance.
