Job summary

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma - GED or HiSET equivalent - Required
• Associate's Degree or business college certificate - Preferred
• Experience in computer data entry, customer service, collections and medical record responsibility - Preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Schedules, reschedules, and cancels patient appointments; check-in and check-out functions in clinic.
• Enters patient data into computer systems accurately and completely.
• Communicates with patients regarding appointments, insurance forms and documentation.
• Prepares release of information and consent forms for patient signature.
• Answers the phones and acts as a receptionist for patients and visitors.
• Relays information to providers, nursing staff and patients.
• Contacts other departments for orders, especially STAT or NOW, when needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients and staff.
• Other duties as assigned
