Job summary

Intermountain Health’s St George Regional Hospital in Utah is hiring a Patient Service Representative to be the first connection with patients. You will greet and check-in/out patients, verify demographics, schedule visits, and assist with insurance forms and billing needs, while documenting interactions in the EMR.

The role emphasizes courteous communication, teamwork, confidentiality, and accurate data entry, with a 40-hour work week and a pay range of $18.31 to $23.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/out patients and provide courteous, professional connections.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person and updates demographic data in the registration system.
• Assists with insurance cards, forms of ID, signatures, and pre-certifications as needed.
• Educates patients on financial assistance and collects payments following procedures.
• Documents all calls and interactions in the EMR accurately.
