Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients at the South Cache Valley Clinic in Providence, UT. You will greet, register, verify insurance information and assist with financial aspects of care while maintaining PHI privacy.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills (word processing and data entry).
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver satisfaction.
• Protect privacy and PHI of patients and caregivers.
• Typing and data entry in EMR or registration systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients via phone, in person or secure messaging.
• Documents all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, tests, referrals and consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating demographic data.
• Obtains insurance cards and IDs, verifies information for COB and prior authorizations.
• Assists patients with forms for billing/regulatory needs and educates on financial assistance.
• Seeks payments and processes them per procedure; stays updated on role responsibilities.
