Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a detail-oriented team member to support patient check-in and accurate demographics verification. You will read and interpret insurance responses, assign proper coverage, and communicate financial obligations to patients, collecting payments as appropriate.

Role requires maintaining HIPAA privacy, accurate medical records, and timely follow-ups. You will also help with referrals, scheduling, and patient communications in a busy office setting.

Responsibilities

• Check-in patients for appointments and verify demographics.
• Assure all check-in procedures are completed and monitor patient wait times.
• Read and interpret insurance responses and assign primary/secondary/tertiary coverage.
• Explain and collect patient financial obligations including copays and deductibles.
• Maintain medical record confidentiality and release as required.
• Post cash and balance as per department guidelines.
• Schedule follow-ups and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Maintain recall and reschedule lists and manage patient communication.
