Job summary

Intermountain Health Park City Hospital in Park City, Utah, seeks a compassionate Patient Service Representative to be the first connection between Intermountain and patients, delivering a superior customer experience.

You will greet and check in/out patients, verify information, schedule visits, collect demographics and payments, and document all interactions in the EMR while upholding privacy and PHI protections.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming, entering, and/or updating all required demographic data on patient and guarantor on the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on all required forms; may verify information for COB or pre-authorization.
• Assists patients in completing forms to meet regulatory and billing needs prior to receiving care; educates patient on financial assistance; processes payments.
• Stays current on role/responsibilities by reviewing communications and admissions data to ensure performance.
