Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System's Genesis Primary Care New Lexington seeks a Patient Access & Scheduling Associate to greet patients, verify demographics, insurance, and financial information, and register them for services.

You will collect co-pays, coordinate scheduling with departments, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support smooth patient flow in a day shift, 36-hour week, in a busy clinic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in physician office or clinic registration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, priority-changing environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality regulations.
• Familiarity with patient accounting and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information.
• Register patients in the accounting system and obtain required signatures.
• Collect co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles, and deposits at check-in.
• Validate Medicare and other cases for clinical/financial clearance.
• Coordinate with scheduling/ancillary departments to ensure patient flow.
• Provide directions, parking information, and answer patient questions.
• Prepare reports on patient access throughput as directed.
