Job summary

PVH Potomac Valley Hospital is seeking a Scheduler-Registration professional to manage patient registration and billing information with accuracy. The role may include CMA duties and requires strong attention to detail and patient communication.

You will balance payments, prepare consent forms, and support physicians with scheduling and pre-certifications. The position is full-time in a fast-paced outpatient setting, with emphasis on compliance, data integrity, and efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State and federal background checks as applicable.
• National CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic and billing info from patient/family and enter into systems.
• Explain insurance and hospital payment procedures to patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and authorizations when needed.
• Prepare consent forms and obtain signatures; electronic consent if applicable.
• Collect deposits, co-pays, deductibles; issue receipts and document payments.
• Prepare patient armbands for identification.
• Balance daily receipts and cash drawer as needed.
• Initiate screenings and gather information for coverage; complete paperwork.
• Perform medical necessity checks and Advanced Beneficiary Notice when required.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments per workflow.
• Check order completeness and validate against scheduled services.
• Greet/escort patients to exam rooms and collect initial information.
