Job summary

UNC Health in Johnston Health's Cardiac Rehab team seeks a patient access professional to ensure accurate ADT data, assist with appointments, and support billing processes in a fast-paced onsite setting in Smithfield, NC.

This full-time role (40 hours/week, day shift) requires a high school diploma and at least two years of customer service or clerical experience; familiarity with insurance verification and registration is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Two years of customer service and/or clerical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Verify and update ADT information (insurance, demographics) to ensure safety, charging, coding, and billing accuracy.
• Schedule all new and follow-up patient appointments; reschedule cancellations when possible; communicate cancellations to providers.
• Complete and document governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms per procedure; ensure scanned and legible copies.
• Use price estimation tool during registration to provide accurate estimates.
• Meet upfront collections targets including deposits, estimated amounts due, co-pays, and prior balances.
• Participate in QA by using system work queues to reduce errors and make corrections.
