Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Mount Pleasant, SC seeks a Patient Services Representative to be the first point of contact for patients at our physician practices.

You will register patients, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, and explain financial options while maintaining accurate medical records. The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and basic computer skills; familiarity with cash handling and MyChart is a plus; we support cross-location

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare (preferred)
• Knowledge of ICD-9 coding (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary point of contact between patients and physician practices
• Provides strong communication and excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner
• Answers internal and external calls, routes calls, schedules patients, and enters information for scheduling into the computer system
• Processes patients in practice as they present for their appointments
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems to maintain patient flow and informs supervisor of issues
