Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; in lieu of diploma may be considered.
• Prior healthcare, medical office, or insurance experience preferred.
• Basic data entry and computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify information for hospital and physician records, billing, and third-party payer needs.
• Enter accurate patient information into the electronic health record.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as requested.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine eligibility.
• Explain patient liability and collect prepayments or balances.
• Promote patient engagement and navigation assistance, including MyChart.
• Support HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
