Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Representative for the McHenry Medical Office Building. The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 7:30a–5p, with one day ending at 7p and no weekends.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, registering them, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, updating demographics, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and coordinating tests. Emphasis on patient service, confidentiality, and accurate charting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of customer service experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and register them, verify insurance, and collect copays.
• Update patient demographics and company information.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments; document calls.
• Coordinate scheduling of outside tests and liaise with patients and staff.
• Ensure patient privacy and accurate charting; prepare charts for next day.
• Handle medical record requests per protocol.
