Job summary

Northwestern Medicine’s Lake Forest campus is seeking a Patient Service Representative for a full-time, 40-hour per week role. The position requires Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm shifts and focuses on welcoming patients, collecting payments, and accurate registration.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, confirming demographics and insurance, posting payments, and supporting scheduling. Prior healthcare experience and bilingual abilities are pluses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Zero to two years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests upon arrival and confirm identity.
• Check-in and check-out functions as directed.
• Update patient identification and insurance information.
• Register patients when needed.
• Obtain patient consents and authorizations.
• Collect co-payments and payments, post them and close the cash drawer at end of day.
• Inform patients of delays or changes in appointment status.
• Schedule appointments as necessary.
• Support ICCs with float duties as needed.
