Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a hospital registration specialist to support patient intake and scheduling. You will register outpatients, collect co-pays, verify information, and ensure accuracy with every interaction in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities include tracking appointment status at check-in and end of day, data entry, patient communication using AIDET, and assisting with recalls. Minimum qualifications: high school diploma and 1 year in a busy customer service role.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure, Certification & Registration: None.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a high volume customer service related position.
• Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Strong customer service skills, strong PC skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Register outpatients and collect co-payments at arrival.
• Data-entry with high accuracy.
• Status all appointments at check-in and end of day.
• Confirm that all appointments are statused by the end of the business day.
• Enter future appointment requests and note patient preferences.
• Schedule multiple appointments in proper sequence and within time frames.
• Provide status updates to patients in waiting areas.
• Monitor waiting areas for cleanliness and appearance.
• Answer phones and register patients using AIDET.
• Escalate questions to appropriate resources to aid access and satisfaction.
