Job summary

HealthNet, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients, process registrations, and coordinate scheduling across multiple locations in Indianapolis.

The role emphasizes accuracy, courtesy, and ADA compliance to ensure equal access for all patients. The position involves triaging needs, assisting patients with transportation referrals when necessary, and delivering educational materials while maintaining a professional demeanor and high call

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to handle high call volumes (80+ calls per day).
• Ability to work independently and handle details under pressure.
• Ability to interact with a diverse population of patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact with patients; answers initial calls.
• Assesses patient needs and triages with nursing as needed; schedules appointments.
• Completes registrations and pre-registrations for patients.
• Schedules patient appointments and provides directions to locations.
• Guides transportation scheduling through insurance providers when needed.
• Distributes educational materials to patients; excludes clinical information.
• Data enters time audits for visits and no-shows.
