Job summary

HealthNet is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in Indianapolis, IN. You will be the first point of contact, handling calls, registrations, scheduling, and patient directions with a focus on accuracy and accessibility. The role supports ADA compliance and equal access for all patients.

Requires a high school diploma, bilingual Spanish, and comfort with insurance information. The position is full-time with a first shift and a Wednesday 11am-8pm schedule.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Knowledge of medical practices and insurance providers preferred.
• Medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle high call volumes (80+ calls per day).
• Reliable transportation; may require travel.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact with patients; answer calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Assess patient needs; triage by nurse or schedule appointments.
• Complete registrations and pre-registrations for patients.
• Schedule patient appointments; provide directions to centers.
• Assist with transportation coordination via insurance providers.
• Provide educational materials; document time audits for visits.
