McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Representative to schedule, register, initiate pre-authorizations and referrals, and to confirm and maintain patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries and other procedures.

You will collect demographic and insurance information, verify eligibility in real time, inform patients of insurance requirements, and handle calls to grow business and ensure access to services.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role or health care industry.
• 2 years experience with third-party medical insurance/HMO preferred.
• Experience with CPT/ICD-10 coding and medical terminology preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Obtains required patient demographic and insurance information for McLaren Health and governmental requirements.
• Provides courteous and efficient services; documents and verifies pre-registration information; collects demographic and financial data.
• Provides physician and/or diagnostic appointment scheduling.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance and authorization requirements; performs real-time insurance verification.
• Explains insurance requirements for services, such as authorizations/pre-certifications and referrals.
• Estimates and collects copays, deductibles, and other patient financial obligations.
• Handles inbound and outbound calls to grow business and improve patient access to services.
