Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Level I Patient Scheduler to pre-register and schedule patients for appointments, procedures, tests, and other services in a timely, professional manner. You will also answer calls, complete follow-up and referral work queues, and provide patients with cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments.

Level I schedulers are proficient in scheduling multiple service lines within the same market, cross-trained to provide coverage as needed, with day rotation

Qualifications

• No educational requirements; completes designated HBI courses within one year of hire.
• Preferred: previous patient access representative or scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

• Patient identification, registration, and scheduling.
• Obtain signatures and documents from patients.
• Coordinate ancillary and procedure scheduling.
• Answer incoming calls, follow-up and referral queues, ticket scheduling.
• Enter data accurately into the permanent electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure optimal customer service and outcomes.
