Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and standard medical forms required.
• Knowledge of EMR systems and understanding of where data points and clinical information located preferred.
• Working knowledge of patient benefits including deductibles, out-of-pocket max, and copayments preferred.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Computer proficiency to use MS Office applications and learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Manages incoming calls and front desk activity with a multi-line phone system and greets patients, vendors, and visitors.
• Performs appointment reminder calls one business day before scheduled visits.
• Retrieves, reviews, and processes referrals at patient visits.
• Prepares patient charts ahead of appointments for efficient registration.
• Checks in patients and completes registration, updating demographics, guarantor, and insurance data.
