Job summary

Texoma Medical Center, a Texoma region-based acute care facility, seeks a detail-oriented Scheduling/Registration specialist to manage pre-services and insurance verification for outpatient procedures. You will collect financial information, calculate co-pays, and ensure patient records in the EMR are accurate and up-to-date.

The role requires minimum one year of scheduling experience, strong numeracy, and good communication.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration.
Experience with third-party payer requirements and healthcare billing.
Ability to prioritize and perform work in an organized, efficient manner with minimal supervision.
Basic computer skills, data entry, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and complete scheduling, registration and insurance verification.
Identify patient and maintain accurate information within the EMR.
Collect financial information including payments for patient/guarantor.
Obtain insurance information, benefits, and authorizations for services provided.
Calculate insurance co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance; obtain consents and necessary signatures.
Provide information to patients regarding Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.
Schedule outpatient procedures timely and accurately based on policy and protocol.
