Job summary

Candidates should have strong PC skills, knowledge of payer requirements, and excellent customer service while maintaining HIPAA

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three to five year admitting and/or Financial Counseling preferred.
• Must have basic PC skills incl. Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of governmental and managed care payer requirements.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain personal and financial information.
• Verify insurance benefits and document the process.
• Perform admitting/registration activities accurately and timely.
• Re-verify eligibility for Medicare/Medicaid when applicable.
• Ensure patient out-of-pocket estimates are calculated and communicated.
• Document all collection efforts and monitor self-pay balances.
• Communicate with clinical and revenue cycle staff to optimize onboarding.
