Job summary

Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage admissions and financial counseling, maximize upfront collections, and ensure accurate registration data across payer types.

You will verify insurance benefits, collect estimated outpatient responsibilities, and document all patient interactions in the system, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and delivering courteous service to diverse populations.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three to five years admitted/financial counseling experience preferred.
• Familiarity with self-pay accounts and patient statements.
• Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain personal and financial information for admission/registration.
• Verify insurance benefits and document verification processes.
• Perform admitting/registration activities for accurate data entry.
• Explain payment options and hospital financial assistance when needed.
• Ensure upfront collections and document all collection efforts in the system.
• Monitor eligibility re-verification and accurate daily census reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines and communicate professionally.
