Job summary

Breg seeks a Patient Access Representative in Dallas, TX to manage front-desk duties, verify benefits, schedule appointments, and collect payments. You will handle referrals, registrations, and insurance checks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and FDA requirements.

The role supports seamless patient flow and coordination across departments. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, comfort with EMR systems, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Knowledge of EMR systems and where clinical data is located preferred
• Working knowledge of patient benefits including deductibles and copays preferred
• Ability to attend regularly and be punctual
• Computer proficiency with MS Office and web/browser use

Responsibilities

• Answer and route calls using a multi-line phone system; greet patients, vendors, and visitors.
• Make appointment reminder calls one business day in advance.
• Review and process referrals at patient visits for accurate service delivery.
• Prepare patient charts prior to appointments to support registration.
• Check in patients and update demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and communicate out-of-pocket costs.
• Collect time-of-service payments (co-pays, deductibles) per policy.
• Process referrals within 24–48 hours per SLAs.
• Obtain necessary records for same-day/urgent referrals.
• Schedule evaluations, equipment deliveries, and follow-up appointments.
• Monitor work queues for referrals and required documents.
• Respond to emails and electronic referrals within one business day.
• Support delivery of ancillary products/services as needed.
• Review new claims for accuracy to aid billing and revenue recognition
• Collaborate with HIM team for departmental needs
