Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, & Sleep Medicine seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for patients. Located in the Longwood area of Boston, MA, the role involves handling high-volume calls, triage, and scheduling essential provider appointments across our campus.

The successful candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and familiarity with web-based systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience required.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.

Responsibilities

  • Directs patient access by answering, screening, and processing a high volume of calls in a dedicated call center.
  • Uses a scheduling system to schedule appointments and updates patient information.
  • Informs patients of preparation for visits and required documents and tests.
  • Coordinates data for efficient scheduling and availability of services for patients and providers.
  • Triages and forwards messages to providers and staff; responds to information requests.
