Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a scheduling coordinator to manage patient appointments, procedures and exams across multiple hospital and outpatient settings. You will work to ensure accurate demographics, verify insurance, and coordinate with physicians’ offices and referral sources.

The role requires attention to confidentiality, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

• 6 months medical office, call center or customer service oriented work experience or
• in lieu of work experience, the completion of an Associate's Degree program or higher will be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient scheduling for appointments, procedures and exams across multiple departments and facilities.
• Facilitates communication between staff, referral sources and physician offices regarding scheduling concerns.
• Schedules patients for physician appointments and diagnostic test procedures.
• Collects clinical information, verifies insurance, and confirms patient demographics for accurate scheduling.
• Educates patients, families and physician offices on department protocols, procedures, insurance, referrals and testing criteria.
• Utilizes scheduling software and EMR systems to ensure patient access into the network.
