Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• 3+ years of relevant experience and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and a broad understanding of insurance types.
• 1 year prior FMH hospital registration, prior authorization, and/or scheduling.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with office software and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists the supervisor with registration/scheduling training, development, and retention.
• Performs scheduling and verifies insurance coverage; documents information for reimbursement.
• Ensures appointments are complete and records are accurate in patient systems.
• Receives physician orders and coordinates case times; reviews physician privilege status.
• Explains financial policies and provides information on resources; handles financial counseling.
• Acts as liaison between patient, PFS, and payor to improve receivables and service.
• Monitors productivity and maintains accurate activity trackers.
• Monitors calls to maintain patient experience.
