Job summary

Upperline Health Tennessee is seeking a professional Call Center Scheduler to greet patients by phone and schedule appointments across multiple clinic locations. You will collect demographics and insurance data, verify pre-certifications, and document information in the Vision system to ensure accurate claims processing.

The role emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and a patient-friendly approach, with duties including timely responses to inquiries and coordination with internal teams

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years’ experience in a similar call center or centralized scheduling setting preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines with urgency.
• Knowledge of general medical terminology and managed care functions.
• Working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR), Vision system, & MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

• Answer, orient, and greet patients over the phone in an enthusiastic manner - 100% of work time spent is answering calls and scheduling appointments.
• Determine appropriate clinic location and schedule patients into Vision system accordingly.
• Obtain required demographic, insurance, and eligibility information and accurately document in Vision system to ensure proper filing of claims.
• Verify if the patient’s insurance requires a pre-certification and begin the referral process.
• Maintain professional working relationship with all contacts, both internal and external.
• Provide timely responses to all verbal and written inquiries regarding patient accounts.
• Respond to voicemails and online requests within 1 hour of the patients’ messages.
• Exhibit a patient demeanor and strong customer service attitude at all times
