Springfield Clinic is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to be the welcoming face at the front desk and call center. You will answer calls, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, collect payments, and support Care Teams to ensure smooth guest flow.

The role emphasizes first-call resolution, accurate data entry, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. CMAA exam eligibility is available within one year of employment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Preferred: Administrative or technical background via 2–3 years of college.
• Preferred: Minimum one year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, determine caller needs, route to appropriate area and take messages.
• Assist guests with the check-in process, verify demographic and insurance information, and update as needed.
• Assist guests, Care Team members, and others with information, direction and hospitality.
• Educate guests on using the FollowMyHealth portal.
• Collect patient payments and provide receipts; reconcile with cash and balance forms.
• Schedule appointments for providers according to group procedures and optimize capacity.
• Document guest requests to the Care Team through the EHR.
• Collaborate with onsite departments to align scheduling efforts and guest contact.
• Support other departments as needed and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Pursue CMAA exam eligibility within 1 year of employment (voluntary growth opportunity).
