Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Two years of related work experience preferred, preferably in healthcare or customer service environment
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to accurately verify demographic information and insurance benefits
• Ability to effectively operate office equipment (fax, printer, etc.)
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Maintains scheduling knowledge for all procedures within department; works at a fast pace with attention to detail
• Schedules patient visits and ensures appointments and information are complete and accurate
• Coordinate appointments as needed with other departments; answer phones with excellent customer service
• Ensures confidentiality when handling patient charts and scheduling information
• Pre-registers patients and obtains authorizations/pre-certifications from payers as needed
• Enter data into registration systems and coordinate with departments to ensure complete records
• Collects and posts self-pay balances per guidelines and initiates financial arrangements as needed
