Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of related work experience preferred, preferably in healthcare or customer service.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to verify demographic information and insurance benefits.
• Ability to operate office equipment and use computer programs.
• Strong customer-service orientation and professional communication with colleagues and patients.
• EPIC EHR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for hospital services and complete pre-registration and registration.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations/pre-certifications as needed.
• Provide financial counseling and establish payment arrangements with patients.
• Collect patient balances and ensure confidentiality of charts and scheduling information.
• Coordinate admissions, bed placement, and referrals with departments and physicians.
• Interact with patients and representatives to explain hospital financial policies and services.
