Job summary

NYU Langone Health Hospital—Long Island is seeking an Associate, Scheduling & Registration to join our team. This role schedules appointments in Hospital Information Systems, liaises with referring physicians, and handles pre-registration and registration with a focus on delivering a welcoming first impression.

You will collect demographics, prescriptions and insurance information, explain financial responsibilities, and assume appropriate risk when documenting patient data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1-2 years Customer Service experience recommended.
• Strong communication, multitasking, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills essential.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook; knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments in Hospital Information Systems.
• Liaises with referring physicians offices and staff.
• Answers and filters calls; utilizes Cyracom when needed.
• Manages pre-registration and completes the registration process.
• Creates a positive first impression of the institution for patients and families.
• Collects demographic information, prescriptions, and insurance details.
• Explains financial responsibilities and expectations to patients and families.
• Assumes appropriate clinical and financial risk when documenting patient information.
