Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Mineola seeks an Associate, Scheduling & Registration for the Cancer Center, Peds. You will schedule patient appointments and handle pre-registration in Hospital Information Systems, forming the first impression of our services for patients and families.

You will liaise with referring offices, collect and communicate financial responsibilities, and ensure accurate demographic and insurance data while delivering courteous, professional service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience.
• Strong communication, multitasking, detail orientation, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Scheduling experience in a medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments in Hospital Information Systems.
• Liaison with referring physicians' office staff.
• Answers and filters phone calls promptly and uses Cyracom when needed.
• Handles pre-registration and completes the registration process.
• Collects co-pays and explains financial responsibilities.
• Verifies documentation for accuracy (prescriptions, insurance cards, IDs).
